out of 5 stars we give this film...
Two girls and a boy (all in their 20's) go on a hike through the scenic Wolf Creek National Park in the Australian Outback. When they get back to their car, it doesn't start. Their watches don't work either. Stranded in the cold night, they wait around until a friendly stranger shows up. Then all hell breaks loose, one terrifying moment after the next.
This sounds like you're typical lame-ass horror movie, but I guarantee you it is not. And it is far, far better than the Tarantino presented film, Hostel. But, of course, that's the movie making all the money. If you're smart, you'll forget that the other film has tons of graphic sex and violence and try out a movie that has nothing more than a kiss (less than half the violence), and other little but meaningful things here and there that make you care about the characters so much more, bringing you closer and closer to feeling like one of them. And by having those feelings, you'll get creeped out to the point of digging your nails into your boyfriend's arm, which he probably won't mind as he's wetting his pants. This film has one of the funniest, weirdest, scariest, slasher killers yet!
I've waited since last January to see this film after missing it along with another movie at the 2005 Sundance Film Fest (Hustle & Flow) and after a year of waiting for both of these over-hyped films I can tell you that they simply were not hyped enough and are both on my Top 10 list for 2005. See these movies right now!
